David W. Pointer

Dave Pointer joined Chapman Associates following a 25-year career in investment management. Dave has served on numerous boards of directors and is currently the Chairman of the Board of a defense electronics semiconductor business as well as Chairman of the Board of a healthcare IT business.
Dave has an extensive background in due-diligence and business valuations; involved in more than 50 private business valuations ranging in size from small individual physician practices to a $15 billion privately held conglomerate. As an investor he consulted with and advised well over 200 Boards and CEOs on factors enhancing business value. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Central Washington University and later his MBA from the Wharton School of Business with concentrations in Finance and Strategic Management. Dave is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
In addition to his business background, Dave has taught finance to MBAs and undergraduate students at Whitworth University and Gonzaga University. Including a specialized course covering the complex instruments (CDOs and CDSs) leading to the financial crisis of 2008 and government response to the crisis.
Dave is focusing on advising in the information technology industry as well as healthcare and medical industry.
Residing in Newman Lake, Washington with his wife Lori, Dave enjoys golf, tennis, history, and the great outdoors.
