Alexander Solonin
Managing Director
Alexander brings over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, M&A, restructuring, and private equity. Prior to joining Chapman, he had worked for bulge-bracket investment banks, including overseas locations in Moscow and London, as well as a number of regional restructuring firms and investment funds, most of which he helped start. He was personally involved in a $900 million private equity fund in Eastern Europe, and oversaw a $450 million restructuring of a major US fast food restaurant chain. Alexander’s most recent endeavor was a real estate opportunity fund specializing in distressed mortgage-backed assets in Southern California.
A lifelong student, Alexander has a BS degree in Systems Analysis from the Moscow Tech University, a MA in Economics from Indiana University, and an MBA from the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania with a double major in Finance and Entrepreneurship. He is an instrument rated single-engine airplane pilot and an avid snowboarder.
